Plant Characteristics

Growth Habit

Northcountry Blueberries are known for their compact, mounded "half-high" growth, reaching about 18-24 inches in height, making them an excellent choice for small spaces or container gardening. Despite their size, mature plants can yield up to 7 lbs of fruit.

Flowering and Ripening

The plant is adorned with white flowers in the spring, leading to the production of small to medium-sized berries by late June to early July. The berries are celebrated for their sweet flavor, akin to that of wild blueberries.

Fruit Attributes

Size, Color, and Flavor

Northcountry blueberries boast a tender, fine texture with a sweet, strong blueberry flavor that makes them perfect for fresh eating, baking, and preserves. After harvest, the green leaves turn vibrant shades of red, adding ornamental value to the garden

Geographical Suitability

This variety's adaptability to a wide range of acidic soil types and its compact size make it a versatile addition to edible and ornamental gardens alike. Its cold hardiness extends its growing range significantly, catering especially to gardeners in colder climates
